Karen Freeman, C.P.N.P
Karen Freeman was raised in Washington and Idaho. She went to Brigham Young University in Utah and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1997.
As a nurse, she developed a love of pediatrics while working at Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. She worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. She cared for children of all ages with a variety of diagnoses. She was a member of the breastfeeding support team.
After a few years of working, she went back to school, this time to the rival school of the University of Utah. In 2005, she completed a master's degree in nursing, specializing in pediatrics. Her master's project was an instructional breastfeeding video in Spanish. She certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
Karen has been working for Desert Valley Pediatrics as a nurse practitioner since October 2005. She enjoys the children and the spice they bring into life. She speaks Spanish and appreciates working with the hispanic/latin population. Other areas of interest include breastfeeding and newborn care.
She lives with her husband and daughter.
